Dr Aleker is an Australian-trained Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist who provides care across fertility, pregnancy, birth and gynaecology. She has worked in obstetrics and gynaecology since 2011 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2020.

Dr Aleker chose to commence in private practice in order to provide continuity of care for patients across different stages of life. She feels privileged to be involved in care from pre-conception and fertility assistance, through pregnancy and birth, and with ongoing gynaecological health. She is committed to high-quality, evidence-based practice and the delivery of patient-centred, kind care to women and their families.

Dr Aleker has worked across Australia, including Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Darwin and Brisbane, as well as in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Her work across a range of demographics and resource settings has meant that she has shared in the health journeys of women from all walks of life. The part of her work Dr Aleker enjoys most is sharing stories with women.

In Darwin, she worked as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. She was also the sole gynaecologist at Repromed, the only fertility provider in the Northern Territory.

In Brisbane, Dr Aleker was the Clinical Lead of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Women’s Business Shared Pathway, an urban outreach gynaecology service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in North Brisbane. She was also an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Redcliffe Hospital.

Dr Aleker has remained passionate about teaching and supervising junior doctors and medical students. She is grateful that throughout her career, she has had mentors who have inspired her and therefore endeavours to be a similar role model for others. She is known for her compassionate, non-judgemental approach and her ability to explain complex medical information clearly, helping patients make informed decisions about their care.

Dr Aleker speaks English, Japanese and Tok Pisin, and has a working understanding of German. At home, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children. She loves travelling, reading novels and swimming when time allows.

Her main goal is to provide kind, high-quality, individualised care that supports people through every stage of their reproductive and gynaecological health.
